Here is Rhinelander, WI
I still can't get over how much history was here and the amount of friendly folks in Rhinelander. The country up there is breathtaking. If anyone ever needs a weekend away I recommend the Northwoods. There is no better way to get rid of your stress and relax than the Northwoods.
Downtown Rhinelander
There beautiful Courthouse
Boom Lake, Rhinelander, WI.... Boom lake is actually part of the Wisconsin River.
The Paper Mill
One more post of pictures to come!

Here is the train Museum in Rhinelander and Logging Museum... Both were on the same site and were free. The people there were so down to earth and full of history. If you visit the Northwoods be sure to stop in Rhinelander...
Logging Museum
The Train Museum, I'm a big train dork... I used to have tons of HO scale trains and I would make little towns with my hot wheel cars and Ertl tractors. Ah, memories...
An old caboose.
Inside the caboose
In the basement they have a scaled replica of Rhinelander back in the 1950's and it was so cool. I was like a kid in a candy store... My brother and good friend had to drag me out of there...lol
The paper mill you seen in an earlier post.
Upstairs it was supposed to be like an old train depot, you could smell the history! So cool...
An awesome painting I wish that I owned.
Thanks everyone for looking. I'm going back up to Minocqua in September... I will have plenty more pictures then!

The first & last picture make me want to go camping up north very badly. The middle pic really makes me want to go for a run on that road.
Josh these pictures are killing me. I planned to camp up north this weekend & then watch the Packers scrimmage in Green Bay on the way back, but I got pink eye the day before I was supposed to leave & I was unable to put my contacts in. Grr, oh well I'll head back pretty soon.

Will do, which reminds me I've still got to put up the Copper Falls state park ones.

Great pictures, love all the logging history! Trains are neat, too. Trains and ships have always interested me.
I went to the train museum in Green Bay recently to see the new Pullman exhibit. I've been to the Pullman Historic District in Chicago, too.
I haven't been to Rhinelander since I was a child (quite some time ago). Think that has to be on my list as a place to go. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Thanks Susan! Rhinelander seems overlooked by many visiting the Northwoods! I think it's the perfect little town because it isn't to touristy but yet not boring either.

These two storm shots go together. They could be stitched together except for the fact that the photos do not line up. This was a really severe storm. High winds and heavy rain, thunder and lightning, trees knocked over. Great midwestern storm. The overall perspective is looking northwest into approaching storm. The leading edge that you see here has rolled over Madison in this photo.

Josh....that train museum you went to...do they offer train rides? I ask because when I was a kid, probably 8 or so, we went on a trip with my grandparents and we rode an old train at some train museum. It was an old locomotive. I was just wondering because this could be the same place ...
I just love these pics all of you are posting! Wisconsin is sure a beautiful place, it's too bad I was so young that I really couldn't appreciate it all the well...
Keep em coming!
