Hankejp and tet tea, both of you have crystal clear pictures. What's your secret? Mine seem fuzzy. Idk why?
What are you shooting?

I tihnk it could be a few different things. For these 2 pictures I used a 55mm prime lens which to some makes the pictures more clear than zoom lenses. I'm not too sure about that one, as my zoom lens is clear as well. I also used a tripod for both of these shots. I had to because I had the shutter speed turned down so I could catch the light trails of the cars and the silkiness effect of the water.

Thanks for the pictures tet tea & hankejp.
I thought that night picture of Wausau was of the first snowfall, then I realized I need to clean the dust off my screen.

Josh ... I'm using a Nikon D100. I think the lense was my Sigma 28-80mm.

One trick I learned (it also applies to shooting a gun!) is to breathe in then let it out when you take the shot. It helps relax you and then you don't get camera shake!

Hope it helps some!

Along the same line as what tea tea said, when I breath out, I will hold by breath for a second or 2 (just to the comfortable point), then shoot. This will stop your camera from moving with your breath.

I am shooting a Nikon D40. Soon I will be getting my Nikon AF-S 55-200mm f/4.0-5.6G IF-ED DX VR. VR stand for vibration reduction to help with a shaky lens.

Lol, sometime I wonder if the picture/lens is dirty until I wipe off my monitor.

Hankejp I love the picture of the rapids in downtown Wausau. How long was your exposure set for?

I think I had the ISO down to 200 and the shutter speed was 1/15. I am going to be going back down there during a sunrise or sunset and redo it, since the exposure is pretty blue. I think the lighting will be much better than when I took that pic.

Thanks Hanke and tet Tea. I only use a simple Kodak digital camera with a stock Schneider lens. It's a DX6490. I would love to get a DSLR someday but I really need to brush up on photography.

Nonsense. My DLSR is the 1st camera I've ever owned. That should tell you how esay and fun they are to use. I have learned a LOT becoming a member of different forums on the internet. The people on the forum I go to are very friendly and helpful. I also just got a book form our Library called Understanding exposures. Great book so far.
