Yeah, he kept his eye on me all the time. I walked along the shore trying to keep up with him, he just kept moving along until he found this spot then he stayed there.
I assume it was a he, in some bird species the male migrates first. He stakes out his territory and waits for a female to come join him. The bill is turning orange, from yellow, showing that it is the start of the breeding season, same thing with the legs.

Ok, the first one was taken at 6:01am and the second one was taken at 6:04.
I had to maneuver around so I had them in the reflection of some pin oaks on the shoreline. I think the reflection was kind of a combination of the reddish from the morning sunrise and the woods in the background.
