Hubby said that yet again the Northwoods suck. Only saw one doe and couldn't shoot it (buck only zone).

Well tet tea, that shoot may have been an exception because the general discussions I have heard from our area is that people have mostly been disappointed. A lot of them said they didn't even see anything, but we do have a dusting of snow on the ground now so maybe that will change. Season's not over, yet! Wish your hubby better luck. Everyone needs to fill their freezer this year.

Has anyone else noticed that the majority of big bucks have been taken on private land, where you know they have been grazing on extra tasty morsels.

Around by me most is posted and either pay to hunt or stay away, unless like some jump it and not care. I have permission to hunt small parcels but some see us and think they on there we can to and jump it before we can. One spot behind us planted into pine tree and man who owns is anti hunting wanted neighbor to plow a 20 acre piece in it plant corn just so all deer in area stay in there. He refused as knows that causes disease and not good for herd.

Well, hubby bagged a buck and a doe. Got them on his friend's land about 3 hours south of Wausau. Took six hours to butcher, but the freezer is looking full!

Hope everyone had a safe hunting experience this year.
