I thought Pyramid State park sounded like a nice area, thought it may be a little far from Green Bay. But as long as we are in driving proximity to some attractions, that would be great. I'm just not sure what it out there. They would probably be coming in August. Oh, what is the weather like in Door county in August?

Do you mean "Penninsula" state park? Its a lovely place to picnic, hike or swim and they have a golf course. Its close to "Al Johnsons" in Sister Bay for breakfast or lunch, kids love the goats on the grass roof. Weather should be nice, typical summer weather. You could rent a pontoon (sp) boat in Ephraim,or take a lovely sunset cruise for dinner and/or drinks, some have music. At the very end is Gills Rock where you take a car ferry to Washington Island, its like Door county 50 years ago, lovely, quiet, few restaraunts shops, but a nice ferry trip.Really though, shopping, eating, golf, boating, swimming is what its all about in summer, take your pick from any of the towns,Fish Creek,Egg Harbor,Ephraim,Sister Bay with Sturgeon Bay the largest. If you spend the nite, they have one of the few remaining drive in movie theaters (for some reason my kids think its just super)People will tell you to do a fish boil, but after decades going up there,I NEVER got the thrill or find it delicious, and my kids would rather eat fried worms then fish boil. Its too early for apple picking and too late for cherry picking but I would recommend a site called "Trip Advisor" and check out their Wisconsin /Door county forum for additional info or the chamber of commerce will send you more brochures then you know what to do with. And I am sure you already heard,,,It WILL be crowded in Door County
