Default Wisconsin Dells

I'm looking for history/photos of an old resort in Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton called the Lazy B or Lazy Bee. It was located on Lake Delton. We vacationed there in the 60's, and I recently brought my 85 year old father back to the Dells for his birthday. We tried to find this resort, or it's remains and were unsuccessful. Anything anyone could provide: info, old photo, old address would be fun to have. Thanks.

Your best bet would be to contact the Sauk County Historical Society at 608-356-1001 or make an inquiry via their website:

Good luck,

Monty

Good luck peter. I took my family to the place we used to go in the summers of the 60's, a Cabin resort next to the entrance to Devils Lake in Baraboo. It was demolished. I saw crumbled concrete. It was sad. the hourse stable was gone, go carts gone, trampolines gone. And when we went to look at the lake it was over flooded. The lodge house was in the water. Good luck with your search, you made me think of my childhood. mag

Default Lazy B

I live in the area the Lazy B motels were located. I remember when they were tearing it down to put up a new building. The building that now sits on the location (on East Hiawatha Dr) is called "Wilderness on the Lake." If you are driving along the main strip (Dells Parkway which is hwy 12) you would turn right or headed east onto Hiawatha just after the Copa Cabana overhead walkway and at the intersection where Houlihan's restaurant is. You'd travel up til you see "Park St" and the next huge log complex is "Wilderness on the Lake". That is the area this Lazy B hotel was. My neighbor north of me stayed at that same motel when they were house-hunting for a vacation home up here. When they tore the place down she hauled off the Letters that were displayed. Each one is at least 4 feet tall. She has them in her back yard up here in Lake Delton to remember the place by when she comes up for Holidays or to escape Illinois for a weekend. I will ask her if she has any old photos of the place. She very well could as she loves to take movies and photos of all the places she visits.
