Default R.E. Taxes & home insurance rates in Minocqua area

Hubby & I would like to relocate somewhere around Minocqua,WI.

We love vacationing there and it seems like it would be a good place to retire to.

Our R.E. taxes, local and property taxes for our current place are atrocious and growing by leaps and bounds. For no known reason except ( the King) wants more toys so it is easy to tax the peasants ....

So folks, approximately what can we expect up there in Minocqua ?

We probably will purchase an existing home. We experienced building from scratch one time and that was enough

TIA,
sienna

There are a lot of retired people up north. Also a lot of snowbirds. Taxes can be high and if you are on the water they will be very high. But depending on what you are paying now it may not be that bad.

Default Wisconsin taxes

If you are moving from TN and think your taxes are high you will hate WI. My cousin lives in Cleveland, TN and we have about ht esame type of house. My taxes are 3 times higher. Taxes on the water are usually much higher than off water property. The realestate people in the area are very nice to work with and can point out the lower tax areas. AGAIN coming from TN you will most likely be shocked at how high taxes are up here.

We go to Minocqua about twice a year it is very nice but you will have to expect a long winter.
