I am planning on moving either to Wisconsin or Winona and that area? Does anyone know what cities are the best in Wisconsin? I don't like Large Large cities and I would be coming from the twin cities area? Thanks for any info.

What's your definition of a large city? La Crosse area would be on my short list if I moved back to WI, as would the Wisconsin Dells to Baraboo to Madison area, and last but not least, the Appleton area. Some online searching shows unemployment rate La Crosse metro area at around 5.9 percent, and 6.8 percent for Appleton metro area, and 5.3 percent for the Madison metro area.

If you want big city shopping in a relatively rural feeling setting, then I'd suggest Port Washington, Saukville, or Grafton. Along I-43, Grafton exit, lots of shopping and eating destinations normally only found in larger cities.

Eau Claire or Menomonie or Chippewa Falls -- we rock.

Still driving only a couple of hours to the Cities.

Medical community is huge here. Also computers and lately some industrial.

Also our parks kick butt.

Enjoy Eau Claire, WI -- Search for Entertainment, Movies, Restaurants, and Attractions

Find an area that fits your economic/political worldview, then look/ask at the job situation there. Some lifestyles are better suited in some areas.
