Default Work in Sun Prairie, live in?

My husband is considering a job in Sun Prairie, WI and we are looking to find a place to live with low crime, a nice house in the lower 200,000s and hopefully a private Christian School. We aren't fundamentalists or Lutheran or charismatic. We'd like a Christian School with solid academics that teaches from a biblical point of view. Also, my husband is not opposed to commuting up to 45 minutes to the office.
Otherwise, if we can't find a good private school, we're looking for a subdivision with great schools. Waunakee looks like a really nice area, though I'm not sure if we could afford it. I'd rather live outside Madison to the east, but I don't see any areas that fit our needs.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm curious. Why don't you want to live in Sun Prairie?

Sun Prairie doesn't have a Christian school that I know of and the public schools I've heard aren't as quality as in other areas around Madison. That, at least, is the information I have. Is that true?

In Sun Prairie there are two Luthern schools and a Baptist school. And a Catholic school. In Randolph a bit north there is a Christian school grades K- 8 with the high school in Waupun. There is a Christian elementary there in Waupun as well. Both towns are about a 40 minute drive from Sun Prairie. I and my husband grew up in those areas. Small towns, good values.

Our choldren went through the public system in SP. There are some of the schools that excel in certain areas. They are broke down by neighborhoods for the most part. The newest Elementary is on the west side in a newer subdivision. You would need to live in the area to go to that school for the most part. The newest middle school is on the east side. Very nice with great teachers. There are plans for a new high school in the next several years. Has gone to referendum several times. Taxes are high in Sun Prairie. It is one of the fastest growing areas in Wisconsin right now and with that growth comes higher taxes to provide services, roads, schools, ect. They were growing faster than the schools could handle. They are getting it under control with the building of schools but it takes time to build and the population explosion was much greater. It is still a good town to live in and raise a family.
