I loved it when cheese factory near me was operating when growing up they also had container of fresh curds waiting in reception area.. We got to eat a few while waiting to get our other cheese went to buy. These were usually warm and so the squeakiest around. Sort of think my Aunt knew which day they made vats of curds as she seemed to always pick that day to get cheese and always picked us up to go along. They are a bit salty and addicting fresh or deep fried.

My daughter just got off the plane here in North Carolina a few hours ago after attending a wedding in Wisconsin, and she brought me two bags of cheese curds, still slightly cold, from a grocery store in Port Washington. She knows I have a weakness for cheese even more than chocolate. One flavor is Dill and Garlic I believe, the other is plain cheddar. They are so good! Makes the cheese we have in the grocery stores here taste like wax.

We were just in Florida, and our friends had a tray of snacks for the Packer game. The orange squares LOOKED like cheese, but when i ate one, i couldn't tell what it was I was eating! NO taste whatsoever. I think, when i DO finally move to Florida full time, i'm going to import cheese from up here and sell it at all the flea markets etc. down there.

we're getting a plant here. I hope they offer fresh curds to the public and have plant tours. Save me having to drive to WI to get fresh ones.

Brookings Register Brookings lands Bel cheese plant

"Brookings will join plants in Leitchfield, Ky., and Little Chute, Wis."

Cool! They should offer curds, they'd be crazy not to.
