All the cold versus warm posts always make me smile! Just like in the weather section of this forum! All the talk about being trapped inside for 4 mos., I feel the same way about warm weather states.

I have friends that are indoors between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from May-August, they do things early a.m. or evenings. I don't mind the weather I walk every day usually twice, mile and a half each time and in summer I can go whenever I want, even at noon time.

Winter, what winter? I don't ever remember a winter this mild plus no snow for December, unreal! Yes, we've had some cold snaps but then it is right back to the high 30's, should be in the mid-20's now.

Though I had 'some' winters back in Calif, one of the many reasons I came to WI was to enjoy the real winters. Love it.

all true. I think one just needs to be able to embrace and enjoy the climate to make it work; it didnt take us long after our move here to where we now prefer the SC summer to WI winters (even with nearly 100 days over 90 degrees last year). Because what we like to do outdoors (boating, fishing, walking) we prefer warm/hot weather to do it in.
But all those years in WI if we had enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, etc it may have been a different story.
Heck we'll be around 70 today which is above normal, and we still cant wait until it gets warmer lol

Its been 33F and thick clouds/fog for over 72hrs. Probably the worst weather so far this winter. While it may be "warm" its still cold and very moist (high dewpoint causing fog conditions).

At least we've seen the sun for the past two days. In Madison anyway. Monday was so cloudy, cold and dreary I wanted to kill myself...

Hey at least you're not in the UP where they say there's two seasons: Winter's Coming, and Winter's Here.

This is the 2nd winter where my sister hasn't had much snow either but she isn't by Marquette.

Looking out at the snow today, rather pretty, seeing as we haven't had much this year!

I look at it this way, US has just about every climate someone could want.. if ya don't like one climate, move to another. Of course in this economy it may not be practical. Cold weather will keep sparsely populated states remaining that way, which is a good thing.
