South Milwaukee - any ideas on finding a missing dog there?
On 8/14/07, my daughter's dog slipped out of his collar at the South Milwaukee Vet Clinic and has not been seen since 8/15/07. I'm thinking he's hiding in a park or that someone took him in. He is timid and shy and would be hard to catch though. Any thoughts on the "park" idea? Are there any "stray" sightings in the parks there? Any other ideas on how to find this little needle in a haystack?? He is a chow/husky cross, about 35 lbs., brown and tannish, with bushy tail and purplish tongue. He may still be wearing his flea collar. Any and all advice/help would be appreciated! We found the people in the area to be very helpful and friendly and we do appreciate that. My daughter is fairly new to Milwaukee (lives on West side) and chances of him finding her place (we think) are slim to none. GENEROUS REWARD if there are any folks wanting to search for him!!

Humane society?
Did your daughter contact the Humane Society to see if anyone turned him in? Also, put an add in the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel. Flyers near the clinic would also help.
Hopefully the dog was wearing tags or vet id. If he was wearing vet id, make sure your daughter contacts the vet where she used to live to make sure they have her new contact information.
Good luck! I have two brittanys and wouldn't be able to sleep if either were missing.

Missing dog
The vet clinic let him back out of his collar so no collar or tags and he was not microchipped either. Yes, she calls the Humane Society and MADACC and visits as many shelters and rescues as she can. We have widened the search area but I still have a feeling he is in the (large) park near there or with someone. I'm going to put a picture in the Milwaukee Sentinel today. I had previously posted a lost and found ad. Thanks for your ideas though!

I have quite a few friends that live in So Milw area. If you'd like to send me a picture I'd be glad to pass it around to them. Shoot me a pm if you'd like.

Our missing dog has been found!
We are so happy and grateful for a happy ending to this story! Tank was turned in by someone in South Milwaukee who was taking care of him for two weeks! She thought he was a stray or abandoned dog but finally brought him to MADACC where we picked him up last evening. I don't know her name but I'll thank her here in case she visits this forum. We know we are unbelievably lucky to have found him! He is happy to be back on the farm!
