Thumbs up Moving to Wisconsin

I am back again, my husband and i were thinking of moving to wisconsin with our children quite a while back , but unfortunatley we couldnt due to unforseeable circumstances , anyway we have a goal for march of next year, and seeing that he hasnt been back home to oak creek in 20 somethin years we would like some imput as to what cities nearby are family and kid friendly and which are absolute no no's to steer clear from. We have a 12 yr old and a 3 and 2 yr old so any info would be great . thanks

fast growing areas you might want to look into are merton, vernon, muskego, susex, hartland, look around those areas. home prices keep going up around those areas. and you do get a lot for your money in safe good school areas without being in farm land.

Default Oak Creek is nice.

I live in Village of Caledonia in Racine County (just over the county line from Oak Creek). I send my daughter to Oak Creek school because Racine Unified IMO is a definite no-no! South Milwaukee has good schools also. I'd probably stay away from Cudahy. Although there are some areas that are nice (south portion), the north portion is getting more gang and drug problems. Just had a friend and her family move from Cudahy (quiet, older neighborhood) because of garage break-ins, stolen vehicle, etc.

You can move out farther for larger lot sizes. Depends on size of lot you want, whether you mind well and septic, etc. Drive time from northeast side of Caledonia to downtown Milw is 25 min so overall the drives from the suburbs aren't too bad for someone who works downtown.

Good luck!

Deanna
