Where do people on here consider "up north" to start?

Merrill northward. Also, north of Rice Lake starting in Washburn county. "Up North" is what I consider to be the Northwoods although others might have their own definitions.

Anything north of Hwy 10 but I could see Hwy 8 being a good divider line.

The problem with this formulation is that the 4-lane expansion keeps marching further and further north. It's now 4-lane limited-access clear past Tomahawk. I expect it'll be 4 lanes all the way to Minocqua within 20 years.

I consider right around Highway 8 as the divider.

I'll agree with that. Jim Johnson, a media personality, generally agreed with that definition as well.
