so like, you're making my point!!! how does being on a peninsula make it so much better?
there is pretty shoreline, state parks, light towers, B & B's , tourist shops, wineries all over Wisconsin
what's in Door County isn't unique to wisconsin or the tourist industry.
so you're telling me the food tastes better because you're on a peninsula? the prices are definitely higher b/c you're on it.
Maybe the higher prices are part of the reason people like it. The rest of your comment really smacks of "People only like mountains because they're so tall"
A vacation destination, much like a home city, is what you make of it. If you just drive up and down 57 and 42 and don't see enough to entertain you, then that's your loss. And my gain, because your car will not be in my way
IMO it's a beautiful area, but I've spent quite a few summers there. Like the other posters have said, you really need to get off the main roads to see it. Also, bring a canoe/kayak.
