Drover's ideal winter would be as follows: cold as hell from December through February, then instant spring come March 1st, complete with blooming flowers, warbling robins, and green ivy on the outfield wall at Wrigley.

x2! With a beautiful Autumn from September to mid November.

Wisconsin is awesome no matter what the weather is!

If the weather is too hot for some of you, it will cool down pretty soon. I can assure you that!

When do think you will realistically make that move to FL, mrs.cool? I'm always more optimistic about WI in the summer months, so I think about relocating *much* less. Although I must admit that I'm presently weighing the pluses and minuses of purchasing a vacation home in FL in the near future.
You might want to buy soon, from what I read over on the PG/PC/Sarasota forums, prices are starting to sneak back up.
My husband's business goes up and down with how well the farmers are doing. As none of them will have any feed this year, it could be a bad year for them, and of course him. Then we might as well move because he won't have any work anyway!

Yeah, I've noticed that. Seems the 2012 Sarasota property assessments should be out sometime this month, so it will be interesting to find any trends emerge.

Sounds like any business working with farms in WI would be not be very profitible right now, unless perhaps you were selling water to a well! Hope things turn up for your husband, or down if it gets you to FL fast enough.

This snowbird is still in Phoenix. I have made a few week long trips to Milwaukee, but I'm usually there most of the warm months, not just for a couple weeks. This year the heat has been too high for me to spend much time there yet. I live in a very old house in Milwaukee, and my A/C is great for normal Wisconsin summers, but it falls behind in these high temperatures. Combined with the humidity and allergies, I'm spending time in the high country instead where it's in the 70s or low 80s in the day and cold at night.

I'll probably come back up to Milwaukee in a few weeks and stay through October or November. Let's hope for a nice fall. With the warm lake temperature I'm hoping it will stay warm on the shore for a while.

I always wonder who exactly the local TV weathermen are talking to when they excitedly report, "Great news! Temps in the nineties all week!"

Now I know. Sheesh.

"Global warming? Bring it on! I love global warming!"

Thanks!!
There's a post now on the PC/PG forum about vacant lot sales going up. We're hanging on to ours though. On the other hand, someone offers us a lot of money...

The water at Bradford beach is pretty warm right now... I was swimming a couple weeks ago & it was much warmer than most years.
