Hi, my family is planning to move to Milwaukee with in a month, and it has been stressful. We are just looking to rent right now, because we are not familiar with the areas there. We are looking for a mixed area with good schools,a school that actually helps students that has a Iep. As of right now our budget is only $850 for a 2bd Duplex or house. Can anyone help me out with a list of areas that we are looking for?

Welcome to the Brew City. well for $850/mo you should be able to find a decent place in the city and some suburbs. When you say you are looking for a mixed area what specifically are you looking for? and what kind of neighborhood do you want to be in? a suburban like area, a urban neighborhood close to downtown, a suburb close to the city or a suburb away from the city. What kind of amenities are you looking for such as great freeway access, bus lines, train stops, shopping, parks, businesses.

I think a suburb close to the city is what I am looking for. When i say a mixed area I mean i want to be around all cultures Black,White,Latino etc...It would be nice to be close to an express way,but I am good with direction so I will find my way.

^^The latter four are solid suggestions, but do yourself a favor and avoid Brown Deer at all costs! Just an awful area with a close by eyesore of dead space in the form of Northridge Mall (is that Chinese developer still pushing forward with their project?). With so many better options nearby, there's no reason to ever consider Brown Deer.

What area of Cincinnati are you moving from?

Just read your post including median income info on Brown Deer here:

And apparently I stand corrected on Brown Deer. I can honestly say I have never had any reason to say anything good about the town (obviously, per my prior post). These nicer parts must have somehow eluded me, or I've been through there several times with blinders on.

Hello

I agree with the north side choices (Brown Deer etc) I might even suggest a little further further out like Cedarburg or Mequon which are actually in Ozaukee county. I don't know anything about the schools but these are nice areas. Port Washington is a very friendly town on the lake.

Thanks
