Wow, good for you and I've learned something, too!!! I guess I've always been one of those gardeners that gives it up in the fall and starts again in late spring!

I like winter, too and plan to get outdoors and enjoy it more here where I have plenty of places to walk, maybe try a little cross country skiing.

That's Ok. I am a hard core gardener and I will do anything to jump start or extend the season. The weather isn't much different from New Hampshire to Wisconsin. So what I do for my garden in NH will also work in WI. I think there is less snow in WI. Where wer were in NH averaged closer to 90 inches and in WI it is closer to 60. Mount Washington in NH gets over 200 inches of snow each year. As much as I love winter, even that would be too much for me.

Being a weather hound, Mount Washington has always interested me, quite the place for snow and wind.

I didn't have a garden this summer due to being in Illinois and trying to move here but I always put grass clippings and "stuff" on it and remember how hot the ground would be underneath when I'd pull weeds or cultivate! How soon I forgot!!! :-)
