Need Friendly Town that's Racially Tolerant ( 1 2 3 4 5 6)

"People in Wisconsin have seen what's happening in Milwaukee, Racine, Beloit etc. and would prefer the same doesn't happen in their town." This is just crap posted up by an uneducated person who fails to understand that the reason why this is happening is because of the huge disparities in education and income between African Americans and Caucasians, due to the historical background of the African-American ancestors (wonder who's to blame for this?).

Crime has a direct link to poverty and socioeconomic class and nothing to do with races.
I have a Ph.D. in Economics and moved to the Central Wisconsin area 2 years ago. I can't wait to get out of here. I joined this forum today after reading the ridiculous remarks posted here about the “black people”. Is that how you refer to them? And you wonder why your state is not diverse? There have been too many instances when I have been directly asked if I am an illegal immigrant on welfare. As a matter of fact, on the night that I just moved into town, a neighbor banged on my door and accused me of not having a job. I am a Professor, though young, brown and beautiful, I am extremely intelligent and well-traveled. If you are African-American, Latino, Asian or any other race other than Caucasian, do not buy into the racially tolerant story. Anywhere north of Madison, you and your children will be faced with these ridiculous assumptions by closed-minded bigots. I thought that I could could make a difference and took it upon myself to change this perception, but I am getting tired of it. The brain-drain is going to continue as long as people judge others based on the color of their skin. For those who think that minorities are corrupting your town, I’d like it to be knows that out of the 74 registered sex offenders living in Stevens Point in early 2007, 73 are Caucasian - and the 1 who is not Caucasian is not one of the "black people".

I am very dissapointed in what people are saying here. This is the very reason that Wisconsin gets a bad name. I beleive that the race spread in Eau Claire is not due to racism, but it is due to the natural movement of people in history. There just was not a huge movement of black people that far north in history. My guess is this was probably due to climate and job oportunity. Because of this, people are very uneducated, closed minded, and unwilling to accept other people. These types of comments are most likely coming from Eau Claire residents who have lived there all of their lives, have no friends of different races, are not willing to talk to someone of a different race, and do not travel much outside of their little paradise they call Eau Claire. In reality these are not the views of the majority of the people who live there, at least in my experience. Maybe it is because I am in my twenties, and the younger generations seem to be much more progressive than older generations. A family friend of mine who lives in Eau Claire has a black husband, and 2 biracial children. She doesn't have any problems to my knowledge living in Eau Claire.
