Default What about Unity?

Hi there. I"m new at this and I'm wondering if anyone has anything to say about Unity? A friend of mine lives in Unity on a 100 acre farm with a ranch house. I've just been offered an opportunity to move up there. I was born and raised in Florida and I'm a single mother of one 7 year old boy. I'm ready for a change. I've been ready. I've always been a country girl at heart and have dreamt of living on a farm and with animals and no neighbors. However, I still like being social and want to be able to go into town for a night out or whatever the reason may be. Anyone here familiar with Unity? Is it close to any towns and do you think I would like it? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your input.

Jenifera. THis question is one of soul searching. If you are the contemplative type and are happy with simple things and a slow way of life than unity would be like about another 300 towns in central and northern wisconsin, you will love it. If you need extensive shopping, lots of night life, and the so called "cultural" things ( and I never understand why people think looking at other peoples paintings is culture) than you would be unhappy. If you like a safe small town way of life. DO it. Unity is just fine and you can drive to Marshfield , Wisconsin Rapids or the Stevens point where there is a college that I graduated from. I used to have 140 acres about 25 miles from there and I miss it.

Good luck and bring your long underwear!!!!!

My husband is looking at a job near Unity, too, and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to live in that area. We are empty nesters in our 50s. Thanks!
