BadgerNut, I agree. Luckily my parents brought me up with a wealth of manners. So whenever I see folks coming out of an eatery etc. I hold the door open. Some say thank you and I respond back "My Pleasure." Some say nothing at all. I find that our rural friends are more hospitable than the city folk. I don't want to generalize though. Portage is full of many people that aren't originally from here making it an odd mix for a small town.
