Janesville Area Advice? (Madison, Beloit, Franklin: for sale, apartment, rentals)

Thank you for the info! I had assumed that all kids in Janesville attended Janesville public schools (unless they went to private school). I didn't realize there was more than one district in the same city.

It's not in Janesville its self, but a little ways outside of Janesville to the south, in Orfordville. However, its a much nicer school than the Janesville Schools. When I have kids, if I'm still in the area, I will send them to Parkview instead of sending them to any Janesville Schools. It's a smaller school, only about 1000 Kids if that in the entire district, and only about 500 in the Middle/ High School combined.

I had not heard of Parkview until you mentioned it, so thank you. What do you know about Milton and/or Edgerton?

Miltion schools aren't that great, I've heard of a lot of drugs and other stuff there, the town is nice though. Edgerton I don't really know a lot about.

Interesting! Thanks so much for the insight. We are currently looking at homes in Janesville, Edgerton, Milton, and Delavan, I think. Information like this is good to have.

Janesville schools are complicated in a way because there are so many of them. There are two High Schools and I don't know how many elementry/middle school but there are quite a few. As far as high schools there is Craig and Parker, depending on which side of town you live on. Craig is a newer building, and is more upscale. Parker is an older school, but I believe it has a good education system. My dad and all of my aunts and uncles graduated from there. Edgerton...I don't know much about the school system but there are in our (Parkview) division for sports and they always come across as very friendly, in my opinion. Milton can be good or bad, depends on what crowd the kid ends up hanging out with. Some of my cousins go to school there and my cousin who is a junior tends to be the one who can get into drugs/alcohol, but my other younger cousins seem to be in the right groups of friends sofar thankfully. I don't know a whole lot about Delavan except for it's location. Here is the school's website if you want to look into that www.ddsd.k12.wi.us otherwise, I think the Delavan/Darien area is very nice and a pretty easy commute to Janesville (WI-Hwy 14 will take you straight there).

Probably right after school is out here--late May or early June. My husband's already there, in a hotel during the week and then he comes home on weekends.

That's what my dad did for 9 months when he worked in Iowa. He stayed in a Hotel all during the week and then came home for the weekends. How far away do you live from the Janesville Area?
