I was just accepted into UW Whitewater.. I have no idea what I just got myself into because I don't know the town at all!!! I've been to the campus a few different times, but am very confused on everything else!! I've talked to some people who live there and everyone just says that its a nice little town and I'll love it.. but that doesn't really help me..

I guess I'm just looking for any information about living in whitewater. I'll be staying in the dorms and it would be great to know where the best food places are, where is the safest place to do my laundry, where the mean old people live so I don't wander somewhere and get hit over the head with a cane or anything.. I'm just interested!! so yeah, anything at all is helpful to me and I appreciate it greatly!!!

Thanks

Don't worry about it. College is all about trying new stuff. You won't know anyone or anything when you get there, but after a few weeks you and all your new friends will figure it out together. Remember, every student at your school will be in the same boat as you, so it's surprisingly easy to strike up conversations and meet people.

Whitewater is a very nice town. I am a graduate of the UW system getting my Masters from Stout at Menomonie, WI. The UW system has a great reputation worldwide and has an excellent campus at Whitewater. Don't be too uneasy as you go into this new adventure. It's a bit scary, but also you probably find it exciting.

I'm 63 years old and am in a Doctoral program here in Kentucky. Talk about scary! However, I take one day at a time and am getting all A's and B's so far. You can do it!
Look at this challenge as an exciting new adventure and you'll be okay.

Congrats on your acceptance!!! My old neighbor went there for his degree and LOVED it. He is very shy and he said he really had a good experience there.

Both my daughter-in-law and one of my granddaughters graduated from UW Whitewater and they loved it. Whitewater is a pretty quiet, nice town and, by and large, the college students are well treated there.

Good luck! I'm a graduate of the UW system as well and stayed in the dorms at Whitewater once for a conference. It's a nice smallish town. You'll do fine and make many new friends. Like double said, everyone's in the same boat!

Great thing about Whitewater is when you need to expand your horizons a bit for a day or weekend, Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago are an easy drive away.

don't know much about whitewater, but you're about halfway between madison and milwaukee. so when you want some weekend entertainment, you aren't out of luck

Great place to eat = Salamone's. A lot of students from UWW work there. There's a wonderful manager there by the name of Terra.
