So far it's nothing to complain about. We go out for walks some days or if we need something from the grocery store we'll walk over. Heck of a lot easier to stay warm than it is to get cool when it's 95 and I'm trying to mow the lawn

I like it. I still walk 2 miles a day. I swear by Under Armour for long underwear. Very comfortable. The other morning it was -11 when I was ready to walk so I did go over to the mall to walk. But that is the only day I haven't walked outside. A few more inches of snow and I will be able to snowshoe.
Granite Peak opened for the season 2 weeks ago. Lots of people are skiing. So much for the theory that people hibernate all winter. Saw a few snowmobilers out too. But the trails aren't open yet.

I have to walk the dog about 3X a day. I wear double pants and layer up under my thick jacket with a hood and an awesome scarf. Do I like it? I like it morethan heat and humidity, but I would like it to fluctuate - some days like this but then give us a couple of 20 degrees-30 degrees.

All the better for a complete ice trials season. Two years ago the entire season was canceled for lack of ice.

In the middle of December? Sounds perfectly boring.

I agree with you Drover, I love winter. It is the changing weather that keeps me in the midwest.

I don't know Drover...if that is perfectly boring (DaBear's sighting 70s in North Carolina in mid-December) I think I would prefer to be bored!! I would take that weather right now in a heartbeat.
I hate this cold weather thus far. It actually can be quite beautiful and cozy when you can just huddle down in your house and stare out some of the bigger windows, but when you have to get out in it to drive to-fro work, walk to-fro the office, bundle up the kiddies (and unbundle), bundle yourself up, deal with slippery streets and sidewalks, deal with salt on everything (including inevitably the house even when trying to always take off shoes), shovel every couple of days, etc., it gets real old real quick.
I do not let the cold and any weather hold me in though, and I run/walk 5 or 6 miles every day. I very well may need to heed ekg56's suggestion of Under Armour for long underwear...that sounds like good stuff.
