Hi everyone,

So, I'm taking a hiatus in looking for work in Wisconsin. I'm looking for a 2nd full time job (work part time now) in Pennsylvania to save up and gain experience. I think my lack of experience is killing me now and I'd like to save before I move... so I'm focusing on a job here first and will look again in the Midwest come Spring. How friendly are people in Wisconsin? If I do get something in the future (whether it be a year, year and a half or two years from now)... would I be welcomed into the area? I'm thinking of expanding locations too. I want to get out of PA and as long as I can find something with cold weather, I'm happy.

They're friendlier than any other place I've lived, that includes VT, MA, KY, IN, CA, IL.

Alright. I've been thinking of applying internationally as well. I'm focusing on a job here for the money, but once I do get the money... I just want to look everywhere. I really dislike Pennsylvania and want to get out, so I'm thinking if I expand... it should happen eventually.

I think we're pretty friendly, but I might be biased, being from Wisconsin.

In some areas, people are a little more reserved. But overall, people in Wisconsin are pretty welcoming. At least, that's been my experience. My husband and I took a drive yesterday and I can't even tell you how many waves and "hellos" were given. It's nice. It makes it feel like you're connected.

Good luck to you! I hope it all works out well.

Thanks, Nicci. I'm just hoping to get a job in PA soon so I can start saving. I've wanted to move to Wisconsin since 2010. I just want to do it smartly and saving first to do it as I wait for a job, I think that's my best bet.

I agree, Jess. It's best to be prepared, no matter what.
Where do you think you'll end up living in WI? Is there a specific area you're most interested in?

I would LOVE Green Bay. I'm hoping for Green Bay, honestly. However, I took peoples' suggestions here and signed up for job notices in Madison as well (since I'm a writer/librarian assistant). I'm more familiar with Green Bay and Milwaukee, though, I've never been to Madison.

I like Green Bay a lot. Appleton, too. I know people really like Madison, but I always find it too crowded, personally. I like some space. It's a great place to visit, however. Lots of fun stuff to see and do.

Milwaukee is lovely, in my opinion. I was just there at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design a couple of weeks ago. The architecture is such a diverse mix. And while it can be a little "rough around the edges" in some areas, I think it's a really nice city overall.

The City of Appleton has a new library in the works. Looks like it's going to be very interesting. Of course, there is opposition because some people think it's "a waste of money." I couldn't be more opposed to that viewpoint! Check out the Appleton Press Gazette, if you're interested in seeing the library plans. Maybe that would be a "happy medium" for you between Green Bay and Milwaukee. It's a hop and a skip to Green Bay from Appleton.

Ohh, thanks for that head's up! I get e-mails from Appleton too (since it's near Green Bay) and that's a possibility too. I get job postings for Green Bay, Appleton and Neenah. I think once I get more experience under my belt, I think I'll be good to go.

Most democrat cities are very dangerous

You can look here America

and here FBI — Table 6

Madison is the exception, seems half way decent.
