For me, too! Working at VW for 33 years, a staple at parties. We had our annual Parts Managers meeting at Lake Lawn Lodge and they always served it. The Germans called it Hackepeter, I always heard steak tartare.

With health concerns over raw meat now, I would not eat it just anywhere, but I do enjoy it!

but those were the days; when you could go to a restaurant & get a bowl of real butter patties sitting on ice; breadsticks in twin-packs ( ok, everyone who's grandma took them home--raise your hands! ); etc...

I would describe WI drivers as slow, but mostly inattentive to their surroundings. However I've driven all over the place, including in FL, and in other states I've observed people driving fast and inattentive to their surroundings. And breaking the rules. So at least our accidents are lower speed lol.

The Wisconsin Accents. I could not help but to laugh when even my own mother talks. I never realized how thick the accent is until I moved away a few years ago. No matter if you are in a restaurant, a bar, the store, or the street, this accent follows you everywhere!
Not in Milwaukee!

Not in Milwaukee, U turns are legal here. 40mph is ave side street traffic.

Cheap drinks!!!! I have never been anywhere where $10 will get you drunk. Have people in Wisconsin even heard of a cover charge? For a good night of fun and partying in Tampa Bay, I spend at least $50/night for cover and parking and then overpriced drinks.
Again not in Milwaukee, maybe in the suburbs or away from downtown. Drinks in Milwaukee are expensive compared to the rest of the state.

Milwaukee is not like any other part of the state.

WI drivers are terribly slow and innatentive. A lot of them drive right at the speed limit or less, not thta I condone excessive speeding on public streets, but c'mon people, you can go at least 7 or 8 over in decent conditions. I have driven almost everywhere in the country so I feel that safety-wise they are about average, just very slow.

WI drivers are about 50 times more likely to be driving drunk though lol.

I would also have to say that mnay of the counties outlying Milwaukee County have some very close minded people. I can't even tell you how many people I know that have NEVER traveled as far as IL, its kind of scary...

I do believe that Milwaukee is the exception to much of WI, even in Milwaukee, there are a lot of slow drivers, although its not 98% of them, more like 50%

really? just about everyone i know has gone farther than i have, and though i've never left the country i've been all over it. heck, i'd say a good half of the people i went to high school with (the ones worth a damn) moved out of state a long time ago. and we werent from milwaukee either, just crappy ol fond du lac.

come to think of it, i'm not sure if i know anyone who hasn't ever left the state. maybe my two year old?

Maybe I'm generalizing too much..I should probably say washington county is the worst. I am 24 and went to high school there, I went home and was at a local bar and ran into a bunch of people I went to high school with, and about 1/3 of them still ahve not left the state, maybe I just know all of the people who don't get out much, but it seems many people haven't even seen other areas or culture's in this country.

Actually, I shouldn't say left the state, they have been to the UP
