I have met some nice people but most of the people in green bay are rude and very disrespectful. In my opinion you can't go anywhere by yourself in this town without people being judgmental or being paranoid It gets annoying I mean what's the deal?

I suppose, like anywhere, it depends on where you're going. I notice an overall increase in crabbiness during the winter months. It's unnatural to be stuck indoors for such long periods. I think we all turn into Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Are there any specific instances you can share? I'm not sure why people would be judgmental or paranoid.

One in particular I was walking into barnes and noble and some lady with her kids whom I didn't pay attention to and wasn't even looking at till got inside was just staring at me and her forehead was scrunched up like shes worried. I asked if she had a problem and she turned away and said nothing. I look at it this way as well this town is very shallow too because even if you look at someone for 3 seconds people get paranoid. I'm average looking and half hispanic so that's probably why. But if I was better looking I wouldn't have an issue!

I think there is a faction of people in the Midwest who don't get out much and have no idea how to interact with others. They spend a lot of time reading about crimes and imagine that everywhere they go, they're a target. I know people like this... suspicious of everyone, everywhere. I would try to not take it too personally. They're most likely that way with most people they encounter. Maybe the woman in Barnes and Noble was thinking of something she had to do or something that didn't have anything to do with you? I know sometimes we get in our own little worlds and it appears we're looking at a stranger, but we're really in our own heads. She might have been taken aback when you asked her if she had a problem because she might not have even realized she was looking in your direction. Especially if she had kids with her.

Yesterday in a thrift shop, I politely asked a woman if I could move her cart (it was blocking the whole aisle and I was caged in!) She never made eye contact with me, just scowled and grunted something unintelligible. I was just like, "Okaaaaay then. Thanks!" Some people just are having bad days or aren't inclined to be sociable at all. I mean, AT ALL. It's not you. It's them.

I just smile at people like that. Either they'll realize how crabbassed they're being or they won't... but I'm not going to let them ruin my day. The next person I encounter will most likely be friendlier. That's the way I look at it.

If you think folks in Green Bay are rude, NEVER visit the north east, a real eye opener of rude people.

If you want friendly.....go to Madison, WI.

The 5 friendliest cities in America - Money - TODAY.com

“It’s pretty hard to walk down the street of any neighborhood without getting a friendly smile or a friendly wave. Madison is a very active town with many bike paths, parks and lakes for residents to enjoy. Having so much in the way of outdoor activities really does get Madison’s residents interacting with each other in a fun environment.
