While I do think alot of idiots drive way too fast in this weather, there are some who could not stay home yesterday, and I know that it can be treacherous even at very slow speeds. But I do think these "macho" drivers need to slow it down. Gallon's also right about my house being dark and dungeon-like. If you drive by it, you'll wonder what lives in there, lol. Yeah, when I open the blinds and see just gray, I close them right back up. It's like a cave. |

Growing up in Chicago we use to always have a decent amount of snow every winter. I remember the blizzard of 67 and then we had snow in 78-79 that was unreal. My husband and I were living in an apartment and the snow was up to the 1st floor. Parked in the Jewel parking lot on Pulaski and Wilson because the streets were bad.
Nancy in ME did you use to get a lot of snow in ME or did the ocean help keep it more temperate? |

gallon loved the photo and caption! I'm just around the corner from you EKG and thankfully we were spared. The only thing about the weather that drives me nuts at the moment is the thaw then freeze. My poor old dog fell flat on her face this morning on a patch of ice which we couldn't avoid. This is my first winter in Wisconsin and I've been loving it so far. So much to do besides shoveling

I love those pictures, totally "cool"! The one looks like it could win a photo contest! :-)
I remember those Chicago storms and actually the last two storms they've gotten more snow. I always call friends in Waukegan to see how its going snow-wise! Today was cloudy, no sun but my sister said it was sunny in the UP where she is. I prefer the sunny ones but that is a trade off in winter, very sunny usually comes with that bone chilling cold! But February is here so winter is moving along! |

Perspective: I just read in a news story that a place close to previous home - no more than 60 miles - has gotten more than 13 feet of snow in the last 11 days. They're used to dealing with snow higher than the top of a snow plow but they've given up trying to keep the road from Longmire to Paradise open until the weather clears some.
Maybe what's outside isn't so bad after all ![]() |
