Door County Summer
Hi
My name is Ryan.
I am attending UW Stout and live in Sheboygan the rest of the year.
Though, this summer I am hoping to get an internship at the Peninsula Art School in Door County. I am having trouble in finding summer housing there.
If anyone knows of any (preferably cheap) summer housing or lodging of some sort, that would be great.
I've heard of Camp David through my girlfriend, but she has told me that all the rooms there are taken for the summer. So any place similar to that would be of some help. Also, the closer it is to the Fish Creek area, the better.
Thanks

Its tough to find rentals in the summer as often out of state summer restaraunt workers are competing for space, so you are smart to get going early. You could try the rental guy we always used and who we have sent others to. Century 21 in Egg Harbor, ask for Jim who handles rentals. Good Luck

Does anyone know anything else? I haven't had any luck so far..
I tried the century 21 in egg harbor, but can't get a hold of them.
I definitely need a place now, since I got the internship at the Peninsula Art School, and also a job at one of the restaurants.
any kind of advice, numbers, or contacts would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks!

This would require a ferry trip everyday, which probably would be a pain in the ass, but there's a campground on Washington Island that you could either camp on or they have rooms, like really bare bones rooms, that you could stay in at the main house. I forget what the campground name is but I've asked about staying there before to work on Rock Island & I know they do it, at least they used to.

Have you looked at Craigslist? They have a couple rentals listed. Not sure what you're willing to pay monthly. Here's a link.
You might try contacting the Wagon Trail in Ellison Bay. It's a resort, but a pretty low-tech one. My family stays there every year and we find the people who work there very friendly and informative. It's possible they may have some long-term rental options available. If they don't, who knows? Maybe they'll know someone who does.

Or try any of the realtors in any of the towns, Fish Creek, Egg Harbour,Sturgeon Bay. All should have some rental info for you if they dont handle them.

What does the Peninsular Art School recommend? Any reputable school offering internships should offer housing options.
