Default Picture of Portage's countryside.

Here's just a picture of Portage, Wisconsin. This is my first time posting a picture.

Thanks, Joshua

As a kid who grew up in Chicago, every year we made the trek north to visit my grandparents. When we crossed the WI river near Portage my Mom always said that was the gateway to the north. At that time the highway didn't pass Portage and I remember my parents would take us to eat at the hotel in Portage. We thought it was the Ritz. Of course this was in the 1960s!

Thanks for sharing that memory! I think I know what ou were talking about. Its funny most people say that once you get on -39 in Portage that's the Gateway to the north as you said.
