Default Which neighborhood in Appleton to build ?

We are relocating to Appleton this summer. After looking at many homes in Neenah, Appleton, Clayton, etc. we are thinking of building. Most of the newer homes in the area are out in the country (Apple Hill Farms, Clayton, etc.) We want to live in the city with close proximity to public schools, parks, work (Appleton Medical Center and St. Elizabeth's Hospital) etc. We would like to build a very nice custom home (4000-6000 sq feet on a lot of at least 0.5 acres) that would not seem out of place in the neighborhood. I understand that doing this may mean tearing down an existing home. The neighborhood that looks most appealing to me is Reid Drive/Alicia Park. Any thoughts or other suggestions ?

thanks
