Those ads are bogus and false, if you look at cows, you think they like baking in 100+ degree California valley heat? Answer is no. Not to mention the pollution in California. California Cheese is crap. The reason dairy is big in Wisconsin is because it closely mimicked the conditions and landscape of the homeland of the Germans, who predominately settled Wisconsin. Actually have been to Germany and see why our area was settled by Germans. In Germany they grow corn and raise cows just like in Wisconsin, just not on the scale that they used to, now that Germany has more people and less space.

Those cows wont be so happy when CA has a big earthquake and falls into the Pacific! WI should send life jackets for the cows to wear and then rescue them when the time comes!

That's a BIG FALACY, In the event that the southern end of the san andreas fault moves, California will NOT fall into the ocean, but rather the southern portion of California will move some 100 miles closer to San Francisco. Besides, most milk is produced in the Central Valley of California...free from any worries of the "big one". Like the comercial says...they'll just get their "hoofs massaged"

Isn't this a thread about people that are mad because of the California commercials? If your supporting the commercials and Californias dairy industry which is a joke. Then maybe you need to start a thread in Cali. People here are all for Wisconsin Dairy and we're proud of it.
I doub't the cows would be getting a hoof massage. Good one, lol.

the reason Cali seems to be able to produce more (aside from the fact they are the 5th largest economy in the world) is that the average dairy herd size is over 400 cows! 400 cows make enough waste to equal a city of 30,000 people. In Wisconsin it's about 75 cows, Cali can keep there environmental pollution with runoff and ground water contamination.

Yup I told a wisconsin girl that once about happy campers coming from California referring to the happy cows and she got mad at me. I think the reason is the government subsidizes pretty much a whole chunk of land for californian farmers, see 90% of californians live 10 miles from the coast, San Diego/LA/San Francisco, etc. but then you have that whole central valley which is a whole another state, lots of cows.
