Spring?! What's spring? Looked like about 10" of heavy, wet snow out there when I was shovelling. I sure hope susancruzs is right and this is winter's last gasp

I hope I'm right, too and it was winter's last gasp! No snow here in Two Rivers to speak of really.

I talked to my neighbor back in Illinois and she said they got alot! She is in her 80s, hurt her hip and can't shovel. I told her I was sorry I'm not there to help her!

I saw a little blurb about being a weather spotter so I watched the informative video and I think I'll go to the weather service talk in Manitowoc. Should be interesting!

Weather spotter training is cool. I am a trained National Weather service weather spotter and keep training up every year when offered here.

See alot of tree's tapped now and looked like sap running well and forecast is for good crop with great sugar content. May have to help some friends get some pure syrup.

It looks like we got about 7" here maybe more. I hope it's nice this weekend. Maybe that snow will melt I'm praying that will have some foliage growing in a week or two.

Here in Wausau we seem to have been spared from the snow, but when I head back to school in Menomonie I think there'll be more snow than when I left a week ago for spring break. That's a WI March for ya. Never know what it'll do.

Madison March 22 2008

Signs of Spring The first snowfall of spring here was only 7 inches, instead of the 14 or 16 we would expect in winter.

I still have patches of snow in my yard but there were 3 hardy robins walking around, I was a little surprised to see them! A sure sign spring is on the way (sort of).

Driving back from Illinois yesterday between the northside of Milwaukee and towards Sheboygan total snow squalls, it was nice and then ugly. By Manitowoc County I could see a sunset, too strange!

Heard the robin chirrping away this morning, then saw six of them bobbing around.
