Signs of Spring
Yesterday the ice shanties had to be removed from the water anywhere east of highway 64.
Also notice that the maple tree branches are turning red. We lost about 2 inches of snow yesterday.

Yep, when I was out yesterday I saw several pick-up trucks hauling shanties! Spring is coming, which I kept telling myself this a.m. as I shoveled an inch of slush!!! :-)

I loved winter. I remember when someone said we would never survive, we not only survived but thrived. Loved the snow and even the cold wasn't that bad. Spent lots of time outside and lots of time exploring this wonderful state. We attended so many winter events all over the state and had a blast. We have been looking at the spring/summer events and can't wait. It will be hard to chose since so many great events are on the same dates. Sure can't complain about WI being a boring state!

Our snow drifts keep getting smaller I cannot wait to be able to hang my laundry out to dry. Just something about the smell of the clothes when they are dry.

Snow is melting quickly. I planted some tulip bulbs in pots. They are blooming in my kitchen window. They look so pretty.
I am so excited to get into the garden.
My husband was laughing that the powerball is well over 240 million. Didn't even buy a ticket. We love where we live and wouldn't change a thing.

I didn't buy a ticket either. Think I heard there was one winner maybe??
Planting bulbs in pots is a good idea, hadn't thought of that one. A touch of spring in the house.

Signs of Spring ...
I can see my drive and some of the grass along the edge.
My neighbor's birdbath is slowly rising from the snow.
My mailbox is clearly visible.
Didn't need a jacket on my afternoon walk.
The thermostat has been turned down even lower.

Me, too! Me, too! I can see more and more of the grass every day, a very good thing!
My sister in the UP wants me to come for a visit but I am waiting until April. She still can't see any grass yet!
Turning the thermastat down is a good thing and I keep that front inside door open more and more!
Woohoo, spring is coming (with a little setback tonight, I hear)!
