Default Neenah/Appleton or Augusta GA metro?

I originally posted this on the General US forum, but someone suggested I would probably get more helpful information if I posted on the respective Wisconsin and Georgia boards, so here goes..

I'm a 21 year old college graduate that recently received a great job offer in Neenah Wisconsin.. but was also given an alternative choice in South Carolina in the Augusta GA metro, and I was hoping you guys could help me out deciding which would be the best for me.

I'm coming from Columbus, OH.. the main things I'm looking for are a social life / many people around my age, somewhere active w/ things to do, cultural diversity.. Columbus is alright for me, though I would say main downside is that it feels kinda bland at times and I just feel the need to try somewhere new.

I'm guessing neither option would perfectly fit my 'ideal location' from what I've gathered.. though the company encourages mobility, so if I really don't like a certain place, I'm not going to be stuck there forever. Here are some things that do/don't appeal to me in both places.

Neenah/Appleton - pros: friendly down-to-earth people (from what I encountered during my interview / going around town), not as much culture shock as this is in Midwest, 3 hrs from Chicago or Minneapolis... cons: small town, cold winter weather, wasn't really impressed as far as things to actually do.. main offerings were mainly outdoor activities such as skiing, hunting and fishing..

Augusta - pros: warmer climate, 2 hrs from Atlanta, Charlotte, the coast/beaches, even lower cost of living; cons: culture shock (maybe? the most Southern area I've lived in US is WV, but I don't think that counts), summer weather (noticed highs in 90s)...
I haven't really been to southeast US so I do not have any real experiences to know any better.

As far as the Neenah area goes, I think my main concern is just the transition to living in a smaller town.. any advice would be appreciated.

If you think Columbus is bland, you will die of boredom in Neenah. You are young...have fun, and be near a thriving metro area like Atlanta. Road trip to Florida on weekends. I am a WI native not far from that area, but it is a place for families, etc. If you would be new, and young looking for fun - ain't there. Honest answer.

I'd have to agree with the above poster. I'm 19 and I don't do the whole night scene. It seems as though your more of a big city person. Neenah is more of a small town atmosphere. Wisconsin is a great place when you have a familyu but if you have the chance to live in Atlanta give it a whirl.

I agree with the above posts. You are young and single. GA is far more likely to make you happy than up here.

My husband is a relocation specialist. We moved here from out East a few months ago. Since we have been here we have had quite a few people from out east request transfers to either MN or WI. WI is a great place to live. The weather is a draw back for some people. But on the other hand I know people who hate it in GA because of the hot humid weather. They also complain about the traffic.
My advice would be to go and check out both areas.
