Hi,
I would love to live in Appleton. The only thing I see wrong is the fact that the city data website lists over 200 sex offenders in Appleton. Is it just me or is that a lot for a town of 70,000 people?

I was looking at the sex offenders in Appleton. You did notice that sometimes 1 person is listed with 5-6 different names.

Hi Kate,
No, I'm sorry I didn't notice that. Thank you for pointing that out. I have nothing at all wrong with Appleton or anywhere in Wisconsin, I just thought that seemed to be a large number for a town that size. I would love to move to Appleton, it looks absolutely gorgeous up there and I'm sure the people are all quite friendly. Some of the houses for sale that I've been looking at are very nice and very affordable. My daughter goes to school in Milwaukee and will probably stay there for a while. She loves it and this would give us an excuse to move up there. We would still be a few hours away from her, but Appleton just seems like the perfect town for me.
Thanks for the info.
Don

If you're talking about the school district's money gone dry, I thought that was Kaukauna, not Kimberly?

Appleton schools are reputed to be good but they announced a week or so ago that they are $4M over budget and that 34 positions, mostly teachers, will be eliminated.
There was a story in the local paper a couple of days ago that there are 23 teachers leaving Neenah, another school system that is operating over budget.

Thanks for the info. That's a bit of a shock to lose that many teachers.

I'm hoping it's better than most. When my daughter graduates from high school we would like to move up there.
Thanks for the reply.
