LOL, I had to do a deep search for this thread!
Anyway, I found a site where I could upload my longer deer videos.
I video taped "Battling Bucks" near my work. I had been seeing a lot of deer during the day, one day I was able to walk very close to a buck bedded down with a doe. I decided to bring my camcorder the next day. I almost missed the opportunity when I forgot my camcorder in my personal vehicle. I drove into the woods and saw the bucks fighting so I raced back to my truck for my camcorder. I was still driving when I started taping, so the beginning of "Battling Bucks" is from inside my work truck, heater going full blast. After a minute I got out and stood behind the door, eventually I walked out about five or ten feet in front of the truck. At one point they back up to within fifteen to twenty feet from where I was standing. Later, when the bucks ran right at me and passed within a few feet away from me I realized it had not been such a good idea. DUH!!
The winner broke his G4 tine during the fight. I spend a lot of time the next week following the "Broken Tine" buck, most of the time he was able to vanish before I got him on camera...... except when he had a doe with him, then I was able to get usable footage of him.
These are wild deer not penned or fenced up deer. The winning buck's core area includes a veteran's home cemetery and a couple of adjacent woods.
The video length is about 15 minutes.

Yeah, he was tracking a doe.
That's all they do at this time of the year, look for a doe coming into estrus, when they find one they will mate and he will stay with her until she is over it. That's just to make sure no other buck mates with her.

Great video, super job! I love how nature protects them, when they are in the tall grass you can't see them, even though you saw where they walked in and the one that layed down, too was very hard to see!

I knew he was going to be hard to find so I made a mental note of where he was, but it didn't do any good, I still couldn't find him..
