1) Where in WI do you currently live? Evansville, WI, a suburb of Madison 2- minutes south.

2) Do you like it there?
Love it, though the endless landscape can be a bit wearing

3) Were you born in WI? If so, where?
Milwaukee born and bred.

4) If born out of state, how/why did you end up here. Do you like living here?
N/A

5) Whats your favorite city/town in the state?
Madison due to the University and wide range of employment options. There's a club or support group for you there.

6) Whats your favorite region of the state?
Definitely the south central region.

7) What do you like least about the state?
Drunken drivers and the alcohol culture. Taxes are high. People complain about the high cost of housing but it's not bad at all, Evansville is very reasonable priced housing.

8) What do you like most about the state?
In my area, I like how I can drive from a world class university to a rural area dominated by the Amish in 30 minutes. We have liberal homeschooling laws and tend to be a pretty permissive state- live and let live. Aside from the Ovadals we don;t have too many wackos that try to tell you how to live.

9) Whats your favorite state park/recreation area in the state? Nicolet national forest

10) If you could move somewhere else, where would you like to go?
Ireland

11) What's a major life goal for you?
Master's in Social Work

12) What do you do for a living? This question is totally optional.
Usually a science research technician- mom for now. husband is an engineer.

13) If you could move the Capital of Wisconsin to a different city, where? Noo, leave it in Madison. Most people here are educated.
I'd say La Crosse.

1) Where in WI do you currently live? Region or city, doesnt matter.

I would prefer to say where I have lived in WIsconsin since it gives me perspective of the majority of the state. I was born and raised on a dairy farm on the Western part of Wisconsin not that far from the Twin Cities. I also lived in Madison for five years. I lived in the Milwaukee area for a summer. I also lived in the Central area of Wisconsin for a few years.

I am planning my exit out of Wisconsin without a plan to return. There are four big reasons that is driving me away from Wisconsin - brain drain phenomena that has been going on for a good two decades already, the winter (just can't handle it anymore after all of these years), liberals in Madison, and general poor economy outside of ag, medicine, and farm manufacturing.

2) Do you like it there?

The people tend to be the same in all regions of Wisconsin regardless of what people in Madison think. The liberals in Madison really are a different bunch of people from the rest of the state.

3) Were you born in WI? If so, where?

Yes, born and raised in Wisconsin.

4) If born out of state, how/why did you end up here. Do you like living here?
N/A

5) Whats your favorite city/town in the state?

I would say the drive along the WI/MN boarder around La Crosse is one of the better areas.

6) Whats your favorite region of the state?

Driftless area.

7) What do you like least about the state?

The Cost of living, the taxes are insane and liberals in Madison. The winter is just something you have to deal with all around the country. It just lasts longer in WI than some other areas.

8) What do you like most about the state?

Farm land.

9) Whats your favorite state park/recreation area in the state?

Probably Devils Lake.

10) If you could move somewhere else, where would you like to go?

I am planning my move to Texas or Nevada.

11) What's a major life goal for you?

I am already in the process of getting to my goals in life....grow a major company.

12) What do you do for a living? This question is totally optional.

I am heavy into business and investing. Not many people like me in Wisconsin.

I was born and raised in Menomonie so I know a lot about the area. It really is an uneducated area. When I grew up there in the 80s the farming was strong and there were a lot of families with several kids. As the small farming started to die and the families got smaller, the city started to go to "crap" and businesses started closing. It has been a good 12 years now since I moved away after high school and not much has changed. The main employers are still the same and the economy is even worse now than it was when I lived there. The number of students at the high school has been dropping for years now and people who grew up there leave to get employment.

Glad to see you love Wisconsin Jill. The state truly does have a diverse landscape and even without mountains it's still a very beautiful place to live.
