It isn't really a self tanner. It is more of a lotion that gives you a little color. I pick the lightest one they have and it works pretty good. I don't have the patience for a self tanner.

Kate, cocoa butter I remember that. Or iodine in your baby oil.
I also love the jergens lotion. Kate, you aren't that fair. Must be all the long winter walks you take. Steve is going up your way next week so he will call.
I don't find a lot of tan people either. The young ones still seem to do it. When I am in Chicago, I can't believe all the people tanning at the lake.

Iodine in baby oil, how I remember my best friend and I applying that to our skin. Really makes you wonder what we did to our skin back when we were so dumb. Still love the smell of cocoa butter.
Tell Steve he better call when he is up this way. We would love to have him over for dinner.

My cousin was a tanning fanatic and she always did the baby oil routine. She is close to 70 now and you never see her skin now. She is always totally covered, even in summer long sleeves. She used to go down to Lake Michigan probably the Wilmette beach for hours and hours, tan as a coconut. I went to see her new condo on Easter Sunday, I commented that I could see the lake in the distance and she says she still misses going out to lay in the sun. Crazy.

Remember when John Kerry was running for Prez and people laughed that he was tan even in January. When we were out east we would laugh at the snowbirds when they came back, all tan. We had one guy that came into the clinic and we called him fake and bake. He would bleach his hair and was tan all year round.
I use sunscreen and cover my head with a hat. But I still manage to pick up a little tan. We are outside so much that it still happens. I spend hours in the garden, we hike and like to canoe on the Lake. I love being outside too much.

I do remember them laughing at Kerry being from the east and being so tan. Too funny. When we lived in Chicago there were many tan people around. I was also guilty of spending too much time at the lake. I also apply sunscreen, about 48 spf but am outside enough to still have a tan too. When I was younger I could be outside all day and never get a really dark tan. I was so jealous of my friends who could tan.

Yeah, my sister was one who could get really dark. She is older then me and uses lots of lotion so her skin is still gorgeous. She lives in AZ and is very careful about sun exposure.

I wish I had at least been good about putting the lotion on and taking more care. I'm better now because I love being outdoors but my skin has major lines, no getting around that.

Mine has lines too. Getting older is so much fun! My hands dry out 10 times faster then they did 20 years ago.
