Default Moving to Appleton; Need dog freindly apt

My husband has been in temporary housing in Appleton since Dec, and our NJ house has sold and the people want to close quickly. While we will be purchasing a house, I need to find an apartment for a few months that will allow us to have our standard poodle with us.

On another forum I found some ratings of apartments that made me question where to go.

West side of town is better as my husband is actually working in Stevens Point.

Thanks

I am also interested in pet friendly apartments in the Appleton area. Have you found any on line that seem reasonable? I have been searching the likes of Rent.com and Relator.com and have not had much luck.

Does any one on these boards even live in an apartment in the Appleton area?

We rented from Toonen properties the first year we lived here but we were looking for places that don't accept pets because of my allergies.

I know a lot of places accept cats, but not dogs. Or if they do accept dogs, they have to be really small.

It's very difficult to find a place when you have a large dog but there must be something here in the city. I'll ask my husband when he gets home to see if he remembers any places that didn't have a weight limit on dogs, and perhaps Kate Daum's husband could also help you since he is a relocation specialist.

Okay, checked with DH and he doesn't remember any places that accept large dogs.

Did you DM Kate Daum to see if her husband could help you?

I checked through what we have. It seems that most apartments will take cats and not dogs. Of course you could always call and double check, they may take a smaller dog. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be more help.

Okay, husband asked around this morning while he was chatting with some of his clients. He came up with two places. I double checked their websites and they do accept large dogs as long as they aren't aggressive breeds which, clearly, a standard poodle isn't.

Ashford Apartment Homes in Neenah. 866/750-2254

Applegate Apartments in Appleton. 866/492-2680

They both charge extra for pets but it is probably worth it to you, especially if it will be short term while you house hunt.

I'm not familiar with that complex but will see what I can find out. It looks very nice, at least online.
