Default Boyceville? Cadot?

I'm looking for input on these two towns as we are planning on relocating from FL to WI and our attention has been brought to these two areas. My husband will probably be commuting to Eau Claire for work, but if his job there falls through we will also need to be considering local job opportunities that pay at least $18 an hour.. he is a diesel mechanic on CAT machines but also has a background in welding, metal fabrication and auto mechanic work.. and can do almost anything he gets his hands on. So the local opportunities will be a factor. The other factors we are looking into are:

-Safety (are either of the areas known for drug use?)
-Small-town appeal (farmers markets, picturesque downtowns, harvest festivals, winter/Christmas events
-Community involvement
-Schools
-Surrounding farmland and agricultural involvement of the town (FFA, etc.. we will be starting a hobby farm within the next 5 years and are hoping for about 20 acres.)

Basically I am just looking for personal opinions of the two towns. Any insight or help will be much appreciated!

No nothing on Boycville and only a litle on Cadott but help some.
Cadott is small but 20 minutes tops from Eau Claire where all the decent Deiel Mechanic jobs are.Unsure of downtown area but this is a small agricultural town so FFA involvemnet is there.
Drug wise seems small not hear bad about it.
I know have summer carnival, winter park is lit up and think have live nativity.
School sytem unsure of but elemetary on one side of highway and high school other so not all bunched up in one school.

The Wausau area has a ton of factory and industrial jobs. It'd be easy to find something there
