Remember when this was supposed to be a 13,000 employee manufacturing plant?

Well, not anymore.

Foxconn reconsidering plans for big U.S.-based factory, slows pace of hiring
Quote:
Foxconn Technology Group is reconsidering plans to make advanced liquid crystal display panels at a $10 billion Wisconsin campus, and said it intends to hire mostly engineers and researchers rather than the manufacturing workforce the project originally promised.

...

Foxconn, which received controversial state and local incentives for the project, initially planned to manufacture advanced large screen displays for TVs and other consumer and professional products at the facility, which is under construction. It later said it would build smaller LCD screens instead.

Now, those plans may be scaled back or even shelved, Louis Woo, special assistant to Foxconn Chief Executive Terry Gou, told Reuters. He said the company was still evaluating options for Wisconsin, but cited the steep cost of making advanced TV screens in the United States, where labor expenses are comparatively high.

Now they're saying they want this site to be a "research hub." On another forum I look at, some guy is adamant that this means that there will be 13,000 engineers stationed there. Lol!

Ever notice how liberals cheer or root for economic failure when a Republican is in charge? or when BuySeasons want's to relocate 500 jobs to the valley you have government officials like Len Taylor and Tom Barrett saying we don't want "those kinds of jobs" just because they are low paying or entry level or when Gov. Evers says he is pro-business but then within hours takes down the "Open for Business sign" on the Wisconsin Welcome sign just so he can put his name up there. How about Gov. Evers saying he is going to be good for business but then vows to raise taxes immediately?

Stick to the social issues liberals and let the adults handle the economy.

BTW the update on BuySeasons is that 95% of the people that work there commute from the inner-city so you could have had "those jobs" a few miles away but now they are paying taxes in New Berlin. It's amazing time and time again when a company wants to move to Milwaukee how many liberals are standing in the way. DRS Technologies is now leaving, along with Eaton Corp, Master Lock, Advanced Waste, ER Wagner and Federal MFG, Transpak also left for the suburbs and now looks like Astronautics is leaving but don't worry you can ride a trolley around for free in a circle if you want.

Here is a prime example, want to renovate or expand your business in Milwaukee? better ask the enviro-hippies first before you cut down 36 trees.

No one is rooting for economic failure. Just pointing out the facts that Trump's saving the economy ain't necessarily so.

No. Never. I see them rooting for smart economic development, wise use of taxpayer funds, and development of sustainable liveable wage jobs in growth sectors no matter who is in office.

Nice misrepresentation of the issue. Why do Conservatives make things up? It isn't enviro hippies, but historical concerns and public space conerns, and its not "36 trees", its a Dan Kiley designed installation.

I doubt Walker believed it. Trump? Who knows. He confused plots from movies (prayer rugs on the border, lol!) with real life routinely, so perhaps.

The governor and lieutenant governor of Wisconsin are democrats, so I'm not sure you have much of a point.
