Ok. I cant take it any more. It just so happens I've got a gallery of beer signs. Majority from Madison, but not all.
Wednesday evening was a good one at the Union Terrace. Beautiful orange sunset, clear skies, gentle zephyr of a breeze, no bugs. The students were away for the summer, but the Terrace was still busy with grad students and profs and families all chatting away. It was just magical. Best part was that they were serving pitchers of Spotted Cow and Honey Weiss out on the terrace, and the grills were fired up with bratwursts.
Had a visitor in from Nevada, he had wanted to see Madison. Well we caught Madison distilled down to its essence. My friend was just in awe of the place. The lilacs helped too.

I Guess since Miller and Coors Merged they decided not to go with Milwaukee, WI or Golden, CO. They decided on Chicago for the wealth of educated people and proximity of transportation.

They stated right from the beginning that their headquarters would not be in either to avoid the perception that one had "taken over" the other rather than being a merger of operations.

I agree. It would be near the top of my list of things I miss from when I lived in Wisconsin.

One of my husband's favorites is South Shore Brewery's (Ashland) Nut Brown Ale.
He did seem to mutter under his breath how some of these posts weren't even beer.... he put in his time with the cheap stuff and now realizes you might as well like what you drink!

Oh dear, there is a job opening up in Eagle River my husband applied to. I mean, we were hoping for it before, but now he might get down right religious on me! My sister lives near Wausau, too. I can just see him having a renewed interest in visiting his SIL!!!
Well, he just went to bed dreaming of a cold mug of Nut Brown Ale (its humid and hot here).

JoshB--birthday idea
Okay, I know this is my third post in a row here (and I don't even drink beer), but I thought of an idea for Josh...
If you are a drinker: When you turn 21, instead of bar-hopping, find a decent micro-brewery with a resturant and go out to dinner with a bunch of friends. Most resturaunts with mirco-brews are pretty cool, laid-back affairs. If you get a large group together, your party will be the center of attention. Plus, every micro-brewery has a sampler, so you can try every (or almost every) beer they make. Then after the meal, you can head to the bar and shoot pool or darts and have fun. I use to bartend and I guess most of the just-turned-21 groups looked like they were having fun, but not really my kind of fun--plus it looked like the hangover wouldn't even wait until the morning. Just a thought, especially since you started the thread!

Thanks, I will consider that idea. It does seem better than the bar scene.
