Before I read back through these entries; Here is the NUMBER 1 Wisconsin Micro brewery: Titletown Brewing Company in Green Bay Wisconsin. It's a renovated Rail Depot and has great food to boot. The Beer there is second to none. You can bring home Gallon Jugs of it and bring the bottle back for a Refill. Five dollar Deposit on it. I've tried many of them in the State and Titletown is the Gem Stone of the Bunch.
And I just went through all eight pages... What is going on in this STATE? No One even mentioned this fine Microbrewery??? Oh my goodness are you in for a treat next time in Green Bay!

1) Those jugs are called "growlers." Don't ask me how it got that name, it wasn't up to me.
2) They are 1/2 gallon, not 1 gallon.
3) Almost every brewpub lets you take home beer in growlers, namely those with their logo on them. It's good marketing.

We were at Red Eye brew pub in Wausau the other night. He said growler got its name because 100 years ago kids would go and get beer for grownups often bringing it to the factories. If they spilled it they would get growled at. Not sure if that is true.

Some examples
Miller
Leinenkugels(Spelling)
Point Beer
Capitol
New Glarus
And so many more.

New Glarus Spotted Cow, the best beer I have tasted in the USA.
