Betty
I am sorry you hate it so much in Wisconsin, but it sounds to me like you WANT to hate it, and you won't give it a chance...sorry I won't feel sorry for you. I have LIVED in several areas of the state AND I have loved them all but one. And guess what? I found a way to move from the place I didn't like. If you hate it so much, do something about it & stop complaining!

i only read through page 4, so maybe this came up.... you are right next to milwaukee, go to milwaukee! theres all kinds of things to do there. brewers games, the museum, bucks games, indoor amateur soccer games (at the us cellular arena right next to the bradley center), shopping, concerts, eat at the downtown george webbs. take a tour through the miller plant. see some old arcitecture. there's a million things to do in milwaukee. its not by any stretch of the imagination boring.
or take a weekend trip to devils lake and rock climb, camp, examine rocks. its one of the best places to learn about gelogical landforms, glacial activity, etc. check out the cave of the mounds. hike in kettle moraine (one of the best places to see glacial land activity on the entire continent, actually).
i used to think that wisconsin was boring too. then i saw more of the country, and learned more about wi, and i realized that we have alot of things here that no one else does. if you are looking for the wrong things, then that's all you are going to find.
the problem isnt that wisconsin is borning. the problem is that kenosha is boring, and you are taking it out on the rest of us. if i lived in kenosha and never left it, i'd be bored out of my skull too.

boredom is not about place
just my two cents: no matter where you live, if you are creative, you will not be bored and you will not call the place you live "boring." the boredom has more to do with the person than the place. so be creative! surely you can find something to do.
write, paint, draw, read a book, play music, talk with friends, watch movies, join a book club, play cards or games, go for a walk with your daughter, go for a bike ride, gaze at the stars, go to a concert or movie or local sports game (these are in pretty much EVERY town if you know where to look), volunteer at a local homeless shelter or animal shelter or school or hospital... especially if you think the schools stink! do something about it, put in your two cents, make a change...
boredom is in the eye of the beholder.

i live in a small town in west central wis. moved here 7 years ago and can't wait to leave. everyone is friendly when they see you at kids sporting events but wouldnt acknowledge you otherwise...i have volunteered for every activity to meet people .have lived in 3 other states and never had a problem making friends before. i believe it has more to do with most everyone else having grown up here and has family here so already has a pretty busy social life. the bars outnumber the churches in town, underage drinking is a major problem....alot of parents buy the booze so their 14 to 18 years olds can get drunk on the weekends. the winters are far too cold...not everyone is into winter sports or due to health reasons cannot participate so i think alot of the previous posters where not fair . perhaps the other posters are long time residents of this area or live in bigger towns......life here is boring !

People are poorly educated because you found a couple of examples of poor grammar usage...and we KNOW such mistakes are not found ANYWHERE else in the world. 3. You walked down the street in the Dells and, without ever exploring the beautiful scenic surrounding area, you decided it was all about water parks. I suspect that you are truly enjoying your pity party and simply are not going to be convinced that there are thousands of people living in Wisconsin who are not bored. I wonder what would happen if you took the focus off of your complaints and put it on finding things to make you happy. I have a feeling we will never know.

In all fairness, I lived in Florida and I said the same. What great winter weather, and nobody is outside! People are slaves to comfort and would be inside, with the AC on in January, just because it was 75 as opposed to 80 outside. So crazy.
I lived in WI and FL....I loved FL better...moved because of the crappy winters...I think I had my air in Tampa maybe 10 times in 4 years....always had my windows & patio doors open........Now I am in NC and still miss the warmer weather of Tampa

Lived here all my life......
Betty:
I've lived here my entire life, but I have visited every state in the union except Alaska, and I would still want to be here for more reasons that I can count. You sound like the guy I once talked to in Chicago who said Chicago is a great city. In some ways it is. They have the Bulls, Da Bears, the White Sox, the Cubs, the museums and so on. But this guy had never been to one of them. So who's fault is it that he didn't go see what Chicago has to offer. I grew up in Milwaukee, but never went on a brewery tour! I live in Northeast WI now. So you live in Kenosha, how sad for you. Right between Chicago and Milwaukee and you say it's boring - nothing to do. Don't blame Wisconsin. Blame yourself. Life is what YOU make of it, not Wisconsin's.

Hey Betty.....
Hey Betty:
I just remembered something.....
If you think it's so boring in Wisconsin, move to the Northeast part of the United States. Anywhere between Boston and Washington DC. It's a GREAT PLACE to live. How do I know. I don't. But 50,000,000 people can't be wrong!!! Can they???
