Oooh! The Oshkosh Air Show and Air Museum is fun.
There is always a lot to do in Milwaukee and Madison.
I prefer Minocqua but almost any town up north is beautiful and a good destination.

There has to be someone on this thread that does enjoy it. Sounds like a nice place.
Thanks to everyone who has posted so far!

I've always wanted to visit the Milwaukee Museum of Art. They do have the other Museum, I'm not sure what they call it? I've been there once. That was A+! The Milwaukee zoo is another favorite. Also House on the Rock is probably a another fave!

That is the good thing about Wisconsin--there is just about anything to suit everything. Okay, so we don't have things like Broadway, but most people can find something to make them happy. The Dells are not my personal favorite (but who can say no to the occaisonal waterslide/waterpark?), but they are for a lot of people. I suppose its the same in every state, but at least in Wisconsin, the people stay generally satisfied. Does that make sense? That we know how to enjoy even the simplest of things?
Okay, missing Wisconsin.... its too hot here in AZ. I have been told that this is their "hibernation" time, just like ours in the winter. I didn't say it outloud, but most people don't "hibernate" in the winter--there is so much stuff to do that you can only do in the winter! Okay, so we all probably stay indoors a little more... but here I stand outside for half an hour and I'm roasting.
Okay, I'll stop whining.

Grew up somewhat near Shell Lake and went swimming there a couple times--it was always fun (I did my first flip off the raft there). Glad to see they did some remodeling and building there a few years ago--although I've only driven through since they did it.

crazyme4878,
Sorry to hear that you don't really like AZ. Maybe someday you can come back to WI.

Well, I've only been here 5 months. Its just the heat that is really killing me. I'm sure it will be fine during the rest of the year. The monsoon season has been pretty cool so far, well besides the bugs getting inside the house! I do sorely miss all the fresh water--my heart lies in cold, dark waters. Nothing like a jump in Lake Superior to refresh the mind and body! Also, we know that Arizona won't be forever--at the most 3 years, but probably shorter.

We just got back from our week and half visit to Wisconsin. I loved it all, visiting Lambeau Field, going to a real farm (my daughter who turned 3 loves cows for some reason..lol), and going to walk along Lake Michigan. But I think my favorite part of the whole trip was going to Door County. I cant get enough of that place, and especially their cherry pie!!! My friend from NC was here today and I was showing her the pictures from our trip and she said, "I never pictured Wisconsin to be so beautiful!"
It was a great trip, and I cried the entire 2 hour flight to NY (where we had a layover). I want to move back home so bad. But my hubby said once he gets his degree we can try.
