I just camped at Copper Falls & it was amazing. It reminded me a little of out west. Nice trails, plentiful trees, large pines, rapids, rocky terrain. Previously I never heard of the park, so I'm interested in other state parks I need to check out.
If you'd like list the ones you've been to. Off the top of my head Wyalusing Yellowstone Gov Dodge Browntown Cadiz Springs New Glarus Woods Blue Mounds Perrot Lake Kegonsa Kettle Moraines (north, south & Lapham, Leow, Pike lake units) Gov Nelson Kohler Andrea Peninsula Copper Falls Amnicon Falls Pattison |

I have not been to many of the state parks. I've been to Devils Lake which I think most people would agree is beautiful. I would like to visit Wyalusing for sure.
I need to explore Wisconsin more to see all our beautiful parks. |

We just went to Peninsula recently. It is really beautiful. It's great if you are looking to keep busy constantly and are not concerned about too much privacy. The campsites are wooded, but you can still see the other tents, etc. If you go, you must check out the lighthouse right in the park and go to a local fish boil, a unique Door County event.
Lake Wissota State Park is beautiful and has campsites that are very private. Since it also has showers, a beach and a playground(as does Peninsula), it is also a good place to take the family. This is a good park if you want both peace and quiet but still want plenty of things to keep busy. By far my favorite park I've visited so far would be the Chippewa Moraine Rec. Area. Stunning beauty, quiet and removed from the world. The area is very pristine, mostly left the way the glaciers molded it. I hope it stays that way. The only campsites are hard to get to and rustic. The Kettle Moraine area is also beautiful with a lot of interesting features left over from the glaciers. I haven't been to the campgrounds there, the nature center is cool. All the parks I mentioned have nature centers and trails for hiking and/or biking. I haven't been to Copper Falls yet, that is high on my list for places to go. |

My personal favorite is Wyalusing. It's incredibly beautiful, offers many different hiking and water activities, and is far enough off the beaten path that's not over-run with visitors like Devil's Lake.

My favorite is Wyalusing. The trails going down to the river are beautiful! My second favorite would probably be Peninsula. My daughter enjoys going up in the lighthouse.

Other parks I like: Kohler Andre (great beach) Peninsula Wyalusing--great view Gov. Dodge Devil's Lake Since I don't like crowds, I don't often go to Devil's Lake, Peninsula, or Kohler Andre. I'd prefer to drive the extra distance into upper Michigan which is less crowded. |
