Hi, Everyone! Can't believe its June already, the awesome weather we had for April and May, warmer than normal, although I can always get along better if it isn't too humid!

In general, how's the humidity been this spring?

Anyone else notice the lack of grass cutting along our freeways, Blvd's, streets, on-ramps and other public areas?

Is it that hard to cut the grass?

Seems to me the simple answer is to take those behind bars and keep 'em busy with landscaping, cleaning parks, etc!...or is that just excessive punishment?

Hubster came up to check on gravel road and excavation that was done on our property. Said the Chippewa River by us was up at least 4 ft and flowing rapidly. Hee-haw! Wish I didn't have to work this weekend. I miss him up there in the peace and quiet!

DH commented on that this morning. Said the cops are using the tall grass to hide and run radar on 41. Good way to catch speeders when they can't see the cruisers sitting there. I haven't been on 41 in months. Is the grass really that tall everywhere??

I have noticed very tall grass and weeds all over the state for some odd reason.

I heard here in Manitowoc county it is due to budget issues and cutbacks! I noticed on the way to Point Beach the other day a rural fire hydrant you could barely see except for the stick for the plow drivers! Of course, if I lived near it I'd bite the bullet and be out there with a weed whacker! I've driven up to Marinette/Menominee recently and it is bad further north, too.

DH drove to Eau Claire this afternoon. I'll have to ask him if he noticed the same problem heading west.

I found out! it is a new wild plant initiative. They are letting the wild prairie grass grow and it saves them from cutting grass along highways and medians. I saw a sign about it today in New Berlin.

But if you ask me, I think it looks stupid and ugly. Wild grass is not attractive!
