Default --The Wisconsin Chat--

So someone recommended we just start one and see if they sticky it. I sure hope they do. So what's going on in Wisconsin this weekend? Anyone going anywhere special? I'm just heading to a family reunion in DeForest. I think it's funny how our family has its reunions here even though most of our relatives are from Maryland and Illinois and a few from Missouri. I always wondered why we don't celebrate in Illinois? I'd say 4 out of 10 people there are Illinois residents. Then the first weekend of August I'm going to Rhinelander for some fishing. Then I have to wait a month to get back up to Minocqua! I love the northwoods, wish I could make it there more often....

So, what's happening?

Default Hit the lake

Going to find a lake somewhere to tube and ski, weather permitting. The Madison lakes aren't healthy even if you could go on them. Waubesa is open finally but like I said they aren't healthy.

Madison lakes are hit and miss. With all the runoff and extra and snow this year that can put a damper on water qaulity. You should check out Swan Lake in Portage, it is 406 acres and 82 feet deep. Great tubing lake!

Shannon another idea for a family reunion is maybe a block party. After all your neighbors may know you just as well as your family. My neighbors in my old subdivision knew me better than my cousins in Chicago. lol

Not much going on for me, I was in the UP visiting my sister last weekend so I'm just catching up on all the yard work. With this persistent rain, leave the flower beds for a few days and it is weed city.

A friend of mine from Illinois will probably come up to visit Sat./Sun. as I will be one day older! :-) I have another friend who totally complains about age so I tell her, no big deal you are only one day older than the day before!!!

It stays at the top of the forum always, even if no one has posted in that thread for a few days.

Josh-enjoy the northwoods. Wish I was there, jumping into a nice, cold lake!

crazyme4878, I will enjoy the nice cool lakes. I hope to catch some nice Walleye and Northern Pike.

Susan, How was things up in the U.P? Are they getting enough rain up there? I was thinking if I had enough time I would head up to the Porcupine Mountains well I'm up there. I guess I'll see, I can't forget the camera.lol

So, What's everyone else doing this weekend?

Not much excitement planned for me here in Calumet County, but that's okay - down time is always nice too.

EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh starts this upcoming Monday. The skies and roads in the area will be busy, I'm sure. It's not really my cup of tea but supposedly a pretty cool thing to go to.
