My job might be relocating me to Green Bay within the year. What are some of the nicer neighborhoods or villages around GB? Our budget is around 400K. We are looking for an area with these amenities. City water and sewer, high speed cable, large lots. Would prefer a newer neighborhood to an older one.

There are actually quite a few. DePere, Ashwaubenon, Howard, Suamico are all suburbs of Green Bay and have good schools. Within 20 minutes there is Wrightstown and Seymour among others. The city water and sewer is easy, I'm not sure about high speed cable. I know Seymour at least has DSL-high speed through CenturyTel. $400k will get you a VERY nice house in the area.

Suamico, DePere and the far East end of Green Bay would be my choices.

East side around Preble HS seems to fit your description the best.Preble is the school
where kids are geared to the "better" colleges by a LARGE margin.

While the east side around Preble is a nice area, I have to disagree with the last half of the statement above. Preble is no more geared to the "better" colleges than any of the other 3 GB Area Public Schools. All of the high schools in GB are good and have high academic standards, AP courses, etc, that will help a student get to a good college. Point blank, there are no bad GB high schools, and it's time someone starts standing up for GB East & GB West.

I always thought GB High Schools were all good. When I went to college in another state, the first thing the administrator said "Wisconsin has some great academic programs compared to other states."

East De Pere and Ledgeview have fantastic access to both I-43 and 172, great schools and for 400K a large lot with a new to newer home would not be a problem. If your into biking, jogging, walking, etc. the Fox River Trail and East River trail have easy access points in both areas.
